Drifting Together

Lumberjacks hard at work, cutting hardwood in the forest

Felling trees that remain trees no more, just logs manifest

Dragged to the stream, chained to other logs who're strangers

Pushed into the water, struggling to stay afloat amidst dangers

Why does that forest seem like my society?

Why do I feel like that tree?

Why am I being wed to a man I've never met?

Why this uprooting have I beget?

Yet, we hold each other close, both afraid

A bed of roses or one of thorns, what has life laid?

Staying together, taking each step - cautious

Tackling lifes lovely bouquets and brickbats atrocious

It seems to become easy when you have someone to hold on to

The acknowledgment sprouts a love which is true

A desire to manifest that love for eternity

Led us to the lumberjacking community

The trees from the forest helped build our house, our dream

Those logs had faced as much adversity as we had seen

But now those wooden strangers who drifted down the stream

Will stay together for eternity, bound strongly like our husband-wife team!! :-)
