This is an ancient classical text by Lao Zi, translated almost as many times as the Bible (second behind the Bible in fact) , expounding his philosophy of life and urging us to follow the very simple law of nature. He uses the concept of Dao to explain his ideas.
The great Dao (or Tao) as defined by Lao Zi as inexplicable, ineffable and indefinable. While Lao Zi encouraged people to follow the way of Dao in order to achieve personal and spiritual development, it is indeed a very hard path to follow.
Daoism encourages people to follow the law of nature, to go with the flow and to return to pristine simplicity.
