| This like most of the other waterfalls along the Niagara Escarpment once had a mill beside it. Their isn't much left of the mills except for large amounts of Lilacs brought here by the first settlers. Oddly enough Bores creek flows into the Royal Botonical Gardens while holds the World Lilac Registry. Follow the road the west for a short ways and look for a rope leading down into the gorge you only have to climb down about a 4 foot high wall but its very slippery and muddy but its the quickest way into the gorge. For easiest and best viewing from the top of the gorge head to the north eastern side, if your standing on the bridge looking into the gorge go to the left and follow the trail a short ways down to the viewing platform here there is a small rail and a display board. Driving Directions Take the hamilton bound 403 to hwy 6 north head up hwy 6 to the top of the escarpment to hwy 5 turn left on hwy 5 drive about 2 km to Rock Chapel Rd. turn left onto Rock Chaple Rd drive about another 2 kmthe road will bend to the right then to the left just as you go around the second ben you drive over Borer's Creek just past this point is a parking lot for about 15-20 cars. |
