The 2005 Hamilton Pontiacs represented Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Championships held in Charlottetown, PEI in September trying to repeat as Gold Medal Champions. The Pontiacs went undefeated through round robin play and finished first in their pool. This gave the Pontiacs a bye into the semi-finals, where they faced the PEI Yogis, which was a rematch from last years Championship game. It was a hard fought game, with the Pontiacs coming out on top 3-2 after 8 innings play. This put the Pontiacs into the Championship against the Clarkson Scarletts, the Ontario 2 game. Unfortunately the Pontiacs lost that game 5 - 1 and came home with the Silver Medal. The team took home the Gold Medal at the P.W.S.A. Intermediate Grand Championships for the 4th year in a row, and were also the Tri-County League and Playoff Champions. |
