Doctor Sarca Koylir

Basic Statistics-
Age: 87
Species: Arkanian
Gender: Female
Homeworld: Arkania
Ship: Seldon
Appearance-
Sarca has the usual white hair, pure white eyes, and the clawed four fingered hands that are common to Arkanians. Despite being a few years into Arkanian old age, Sarca looks unnaturally young and can easily be mistaken to be in her thirties.

She is lithe and can be considered attractive by most humanoid standards. Her hair is maintained at waist level and simply braided into a ponytail.

As the administrator of the Oremin think-tank, Sarca generally wears a business suit. When delving into her research, she usually puts on a traditional white lab coat.
Brief History-
As an Arkanian, Sarca grew up with a natural interest in bioengineering and devoted her life to studying it early on in her life. Also like most Arkanians, the study of genetic manipulation came naturally to her and she proved highly adept at it.

Her childhood was largely unremarkable as it was mostly given over to study and research. She entered one of Arkanias most prestigious colleges early and soon impressed her teachers with her knowledge and understanding and sheer intuition on the subject matter. Her skills were truly recognized when she was drafted, while still studying in college, to work on one of Arkanias many generations-long experiments.

This particular project dealt with how to extend the typical Arkanian lifespan well beyond current conventional knowledge. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, the project was near to completion when Sarca became part of the team. Whether the project was a success or not is not officially known as the project was targeted by dissident members of the Arkanian populace who saw the project as unnatural. All senior members of the project were killed by this terrorist organization and all data destroyed. They also began hunting down and destroying anyone else connected with the project. Sarca had several close calls before the members of this group were finally tracked down, arrested, and in many cases, executed for their crimes.

As one of the few surviving members, Sarca held intimate knowledge of the projects progress thus far as well as a good deal of the data. Sarca and the other survivors made a pact to keep this knowledge secret for fear that their lives would be put back in danger if they revealed anything.

However, Sarca continued to work on the age-extending formula in secret, for reasons that remain her own. She would eventually perfect it and use herself as a guinea pig to test it. About a decade afterwards, she was finally sure that it had worked but decided to keep the knowledge secret.

Soon after the terrible events of the terrorist attack were wrapped up, Sarca graduated from college with a masters in bioengineering and two minors, one in Arkanian history and another in Jedi culture.

She then went immediately to work in the Arkanian scientific community, distinguishing herself with several brilliant works, thought-provoking essays, and theorems over a roughly forty-year period. Whenever she was asked about her oddly youthful appearance, Sarca would shrug it off by saying she just took good care of herself.

By the time Kasr, at this time a newly promoted Imperial Grand Admiral, approached her about heading up his soon to be formed think-tank, she jumped at the chance. Not only was she seeking to find a good excuse to get away from Arkania, and the increasing frequency of questions about her youthful appearance, but she also happened to agree with his reasons for forming the think-tank. She did believe that the Jedi had too much power and needed to be removed from their perch on the universe. It was particularly poignant to her as she was well aware that Arkania had been a Sith stronghold at one time in history.

As it turned out, Sarca was the first one Kasr had contacted to be part of his think-tank. It was also through her suggestions that Kasr picked the other members of the team who would later join her. During their relatively short time of working for the Empire, the think-tank invented several innovative ideas for identifying and eliminating Jedi.

However, it wasnt long before Kasr had the need to engineer his own court-martial in order to escape Palpatine. He left strict instructions with Sarca about what to do once he was arrested. She followed his orders to the letter, taking the Seldon to the hidden planet of Oremin and assuming command until Roviditian could show up to run things. Unfortunately, she wasnt able to move fast enough and several of the think-tanks Force-related projects were erased by Imperial agents before they could be uploaded into the Seldons computer banks.

Regardless, she proved a capable and efficient administrator, managing to supervise the numerous construction and mining projects at Oremin as well as the continuation of the think-tanks research. Sarca would later be relieved of many of her duties by Roviditian, and later, Polark, but she kept her position as leader of the think-tank through it all. Even when it was decided that others would try their hand at running the think-tank, many of the scientists came to her instead of the current administrator for advice and guidance.

Currently, Sarca has undertaken another term as the administrator of the Oremin think-tank despite her better judgement. She resents the fact that she is often more immersed in paperwork than in research, but also recognizes that she is the best person to run the think-tank. She has the experience of dealing with administration as well as the knowledge of what the scientists under her truly need.

To help offset her inconveniences, as well as her stress level, Sarca has become involved with fellow scientist, Tomex Irev. The relationship is not considered serious by either person, but it doesnt stop the rampant rumors that run through the think-tank about the two of them. Sarca frowns on any open discussion about her relationship with Tomex and is quick to quash any rumor-mongering.

Now safely hidden away from the galaxy at Oremin, Sarca no longer tries to hide her true age or the fact that she successfully worked on an anti-aging formula back on Arkania. Despite repeated requests, Sarca has refused to divulge any workable details about her anti-aging formula.

This fact, along with Kasrs well-known fighting prowess and younger-than-age-would-dictate looks, have prompted some to believe that Sarca has developed a partially successful, Human-friendly, anti-aging formula. Given Kasrs distaste for any attempt to unnaturally prolong his life, it is doubtful that this particular rumor is true. Sarca has frequently denied any truth to the story and Kasr has refused to comment on it. However, there is enough room for doubt to allow the gossip to persist.
