1673 Swift sent to Kilkeney College; Test Act in England
1674 Milton dies
1677 Bunyan, Pilgrim's Progress
1678 Popish Plot; St John born
1682 Swift entered Trinity College, Dublin
1686 Swift graduates BA in Dublin
1689 Swift employed by Sir William Temple at Moor Park, becomes a tutor of a 8-year-old Esther Johnson (Stella)
1691 Swift returned to Moor Park as a Temple's secretary 
1692 Swift's first publication, he graduates MA at Hart Hall, Oxford
1694 Swift leaves Moor Park
1696 Swift returns to Moor Park, during the next three years writes the book--The battle of the Books in support of the Temple
1699 Death of Temple, Swift returns to Dublin
1701  Swift returns to England and publishes the second book
1702 Swift graduates DD at Trinity College
1707 Swift is appointed a commissioner of the Church of Ireland
1726 Swift arrives in London with the manuscript of The Gulliver's Travels and stays four months
1727 April to September, Swift again in England, he returns to the final sickness and death of Esther Johnson
1740 Swift makes his last will, Richardson, Pamela i, Easword born
1742 August 17, Swift is declared "of unsound mind and memory"
1745 Swift dies
