Barra MacNeils in
Staten Island 2005
Previous to our getting there, Andi had hand-stitched some angels and placed them I the form of cards. She wrote something touching to each band member about how much his/her music means to her. I was grateful that she allowed me to also write a little in each note. They were beautifully stitched, each with a small charm attached a fiddle, a guitar, a butterfly something that represented them. Before the show started I had had the chance to put Stewarts at his mic, but not any of the others.

Misty Moisty Morning was the song that followed the Church bulletins and that made me happy. They do an admirable job on it and have the best version that Ive heard so far. Stewarts flute is fantastic here.

With the next tune, the
Marquis of Huntleys Snuff Mill, Stewart took a rest and sat it out while the others played. Before he sat down, he picked up the envelope and walked offstage for a minute or two. When he came back to sit down, he glanced at Andi and gave her a big smile, but she was watching Lucy and didnt see it. Weve made it a point to talk to them at each show weve gone to and with the next to last show, Andis brownies made a big hit. Shes too shy to give them but employs me to do it. I always tell them Andi did it and I am just the messenger. They recognize us now. LOL!
