| Encore 2 We got Love !!!!! I havent heard that since Asheville last March and it still sounded good. San makes an effort to really do that reggae beat and it works better live, I think. A lot of people were waving peace signs instead of lighters in a very fitting tribute to Sans song. I heard a harmony that I hadnt noticed before and looked up to find Kris MacFarlane singing heartily into the mic. Go Kris!!!!! Murrays harmonies were wonderful, too. The layering throughout the song was incredible. Its a shame the people in front of me talked all through the song. Grrrr. They only seemed to listen and sing to the old ones. Old Black Rum was fun. The audience sang lustily along with GBS and I think both audience and bys enjoyed themselves. Ended with Rant and Roar and we were all Newfoundlanders for a few minutes. The stage stayed dark and I was hoping wed get yet another encore but we didnt. I guess it was to let San and his girlfriend skitter across the stage without being detected. * shrugs* I met up with Karen again, took pictures of her new friends, the puppet people, and we went to go somewhere for dinner. As we were walking out of the venue, who do I run into but Wendy MacIssac, Steevo, Ryan MacNeil, Patrick Gillis and Mac Morin from Beolach!!! I was so happy to see them there. I had told Wendy at Beolachs gig on St. Paddys Day in Philly that GBS were in Boston today and her reply had been GBS in Boston and we have a day off? I am sooo there!!! Hugs were gotten and given and then they bounded off backstage to see GBS. Lucky ducks! I am glad they got to see the show and got to see the bys afterwards. They were just so excited to be invited backstage. It was cute to see other Atlantic Canadian musicians so psyched up to meet GBS! |

| We went off to Pizzario Unos with the people from Lyndas group and Columbine, Karen, Chandra and I. Had a great late dinner with Michele, Karen, Columbine, Endi and Chandra at our table. And then bid goodbye to some new and old friends and went back with Columbine and Karen to our hotel. Next day we went to see Wendy and Mac and company in Stoneham, Massachusetts, where Beolach was playing. They had two shows scheduled and the afternoon one was sold out. They played with John Campbell, a Cape Breton guy living in Massachusetts who has written some great tunes. And you should have heard the young man who played after him Doug Lamey! He was absolutely great at playing Cape Breton style fiddle. The Four on the Floor dancers were wonderful as were the little dancers. I do miss Cape Breton. I hadnt realized how much till today. The music gets in your soul and wont let go. I have been captured. Then we delivered a happy Columbine to her home and went off blissfully towards home. The bliss ended in Southbury, Connecticut where the car broke down. The good news was we got to stay at the only hotel within miles the Hilton. Great place, the Southbury Hilton. I recommend it highly. Well, I sit at home now, the car in Connecticut at a transmission place. Thanks to BJMoose for driving up to Connecticut at 3 in the morning and rescuing us the next day. I guess next roadtrip we rent a car .. |
