Goofs and Trivia

When Jack asks David why he only buys 20 papes, you can hear someone say in the background say "Bad headline" before David says it.

During Sante Fe, the close up of Jack riding the horse, where you can only see his head, he is actually riding his stunt coordinator’s shoulders.

David buys papers when the price goes up.

When Boot’s is leading the “Strike” chant, while they’re waiting for Jack and Les to come back from the “World” offices, you can see a lovely digital watch on his wrist.

At the end of "Seize the Day" the Horace Greely statue holds a "Soak 'em" sign.

When the guys are singing "I gotta be either dead or dreamin'" the waiter (in the back behind Race) is moving his head to the music. He’s commonly referred to as “Wally the Dancing Waiter” in the fandom.

Jonathan's bald spot is sun-burned.

At the end of the second fight, right as Denton is about to take the picture, a bunch of the guys are dancing around in a circle.

Spot has a watch tan during the court scene.

When Denton comes into Tibby's you can see Spot leave.

During the reprise of WWK, when they first see the other kids showing up, you can see Spot standing behind Jack, and in the next shot he's leading the Brooklyn newsies.

Right after Jack stands up on the statue in "The World Will Know" you can see the fake backing to one of the sets (on the right).

In "Carrying the Banner," Mush is very late. You see him run in right before "We need a good assassination..."

During "Carrying the Banner" when Kid Blink sings "Something to wake me up," the kid behind him mouths the words along with him.

During "Carrying the Banner" when Kid Blink sings "I smell money" you can see Mush with his pants down.

After "King of New York" when the Newsies are toasting, everyone but Kid Blink gets a glass, so he has to share with Mush.

In "Carrying the Banner" when Crutchy sings, his lips are unsynchronized with the words.

During "King of New York" after the guys (led by Mush) hop up onto the table, they all roll off the table to the sides except for Bumlets. He goes under the table because he has to be spinning on the fan in the next shot.

When Dave and Jack are talking on the fire escape outside David’s apartment you can see a person brushing her hair, it's Sarah. When David goes in, you can see in the same window but magically Sarah turns into David's mom, Les, and David.

While Racetrack and Jack are singing, "It's my city, I'm the king of New York," you can see Boots standing beside them. Then it cuts to him sitting in the chair singing about a suit.

In "Seize The Day", when the guys are being launched from the back to the front, take notice the second pair being launched, Specs is on the left. On of the boys launching Specs is Bumlets. But look to Jack's right on "Don't be afraid and don't delay." It's Bumlets! Now how'd he get there?!

When they are singing Seize the day, when Mush jumps along with another guy... you know the part...you can hear him yell when he hits the ground but the camera doesn’t show him hit the ground, then later on in the song when he comes out with Race he has a scratch on (from our side) left leg, right from his point of view. So i think that Mush really did fall and scrape his knee...poor Mush

When Jack is eating at David's house, Sarah and her mom are cutting the cake and handing it out. Sarah gives a fork on the plate to Jack, but then the fork disappears and Jack asks Sarah for a fork, and she gives him another.

When the newsies are singing Seize The Day and they have gotten to the faster part of the song after David's solo, they are throwing Mush and Blink into the air. In the air, Mush is on the right and Blink is on the left, but when they land, Blink is on the right and Mush is on the left.

DISCLAIMER: Some of these are written by me, and some I took from my old site. Now, it’s been a while since I made my old site (like, five years) and I’m pretty sure I got a lot of the goofs and trivia on that site, from other Newsies sites. So, if you see something you wrote, and you want me to take it down, just let me know, and I’ll take it right off. Also, if you’d like to add any of your personal observances, let me know, and I’ll add them.
