Brendan Phillips has acted quickly to
bring on board a new 'keeper following the
unexpected departure of Gary Hateley to
Hednesford Town by signing 33-year old Mark Gayle
from Solihull Borough.
Gayle joins the club with a high pedigree after
featuring for Chesterfield, Rushden &
Diamonds, Crewe Alexandra, Walsall, Blackpool and
Leicester City. He had spent the past three
seasons with Hednesford Town before joining
Solihull in November 2002. Whilst at Hednesford
he was voted player of the season in the
2001/2002 campaign.
Hateley's move comes as somewhat of a shock after
originally agreeing to stay at the Grove for the
forthcoming season. Hateley joined Halesowen in
March 2003 and made his debut at Tiverton as a
centre back (allowing qualification for a
Worcestershire Senior Cup game). |
