ground review
Clevedon Town's Hand stadium is now over eleven years and in that time has blossomed into a social hub for Clevedon. The facilities at the ground are second to non in the non-league game with a nightclub, conference room and even horse riding being offered.

Clearly visible from the M5 the ground is perfectly situated for the motorist although those using public transport require a trek through the Somerset countryside to find it.

The bar certainly ranks as one of the best in the league. Very similar to Halesowen's Yeltz bar it offers raised seating a large bar and Sky TV. The beer though is expensive with Courage and John Smith's being sold at £2.30 a pint and bottles of Bud at £2.50. However the place is heaven for Cider drinkers, the day Halesowen visited in August pints were being sold at 99p.

On leaving the club house a small walk is required round the perimeter of the car park to find the turnstiles. Once entering, the 300 seater main stand lies on the right. A fairly imposing structure that offers relatively high vantage to those in seats also boasts a boardroom, press-box, and kitchens. The stand is also home to the players' and officials' dressing rooms.

The rest of the ground is fairly uniform. Hard standing is around the other three sides and has about six or seven shallow steps back to a rather attractively designed breeze block wall something which is missing from many of the new "purpose built" grounds in the non-league game. The side opposite the main stand, unlike the two ends behind the goal is covered.

The food offered at The Hand is very good too. A large selection is offered included chips, hot-dogs, burgers and bacon rolls as well as hot drinks included the much needed Bovril!

On the whole there aren't many grounds that can compete with the appearance let alone the facilities which always makes the trip to Clevedon an enjoyable one.
