Puerto Galera to Sabang and La Laguna

This picture may give you an idea of what it is like in the open waters in the smallest banka.  Also this day was relatively calm seas.  We hired this banka to take us over to Coco Beach for a look around.  Well, this is Mavel just before she and the wind donated breakfast to the banka driver.

Mavel doesn't like bankas.

When your banka lands in front of your hotel, usually there will be someone to help you out with your luggage. The good thing about the bankas, is that they can land you directly on the beach, however, if it is low tide, expect to get your feet wet.

Sabang in Tagalog means long beach.  As you can see Sabang is long, but there's not much of a beach there.

This is the outrigger ferry that travels direct from Batangas to Sabang.  We had great fun watching the passengers disembarking onto this little launch that shuttles them to the beach.  Not everyone made it onshore without first taking a little swim.  In particular, the tourist with the striped shirt standing in front of the older man managed to stay dry only from the armpits up.
