At Hakuda Shapes I pride myself on the quality of boards I produce. All of my boards are Handcrafted and include types such as; Fish, Kneeboards and Mals.
Our Boards are all made to order with my unique fin placement method. Artwork is all custom painted no board is the same.
I don�t do the normal boards that you would buy in a big store because I want to personalize my service.
Surfing is my passion, boards are a big part of this passion Like all my products they are things which carry the love of our sport... the boards are hand crafted, one off's which come to being through the processes of many yrs in the surf and understanding the water.
so you are getting my yrs of surfing put into your board so you dont make mistakes and I would like to stay this way... so the guy who shapes it, glasses it, sprays it, puts fins in it and sands it - a process I'm sure you'll agree which is rare in this automated world...

The boards that I build are for surfers of all levels. And all the boards from sponsored models to beginners will receive the same attention 'til the end....
I surf on the East Coast of Australia the waves are a snappy beach break style. So I make boards that respond to these types of waves. Hakuda shapes is the only surf company that specializes in Kneeboards on the Gold Coast.
I have my test pilots when I do a new design they get to ride it & give me some feed back on the style.

 The BOOBOO bottle that Chris went and got from his car when i decided to have a very sudden exit from the surf.
the surf was about 20ft or maybe 15ft could have been closer to 10ft well 5ft
OK it was 1 1/2 to 2 ft shore break at Palmy .
First wave on the fish went left nice even looked like i could surf
then went for the casual front foot step off and "BANG POP STREACH SCREAM"
yep that was dan hitting the sand bar.
Chris and jayson thought i was very stoked with the ride but when they herd me scream like "well you know" they came got me
draged me up the beach. Where i lay like a beached whale chris went to his car and brought back a "BABY BOTTLE" thats what it looked like to me at the time
anyway thats the story behind the booboo bottle (wada mate calls ya a baby sook then brings ya the bottle to go with it ) heheheh A.O.H DUDES .
PS: the palmy lifeguard was a kool dude great sence of humor and good guy .
By the way Jason asked the lifeguard for a bandaid for his 1/2cm tiny cut on his finger "and they hassel me for being a booboo" hope the finger gets better Jas . and yes my husband will come surfing with us soon.
