Jon Bon Jovi and his group, Bon Jovi (convenient for Jon) started before I was even born. They premiered in 1984 and even twenty years later they remain popular, which is extremely tough for any group or artist to do. They have a unique sound and feel to their songs that I enjoy. Their songs are both powerful and melodic. Exposure to Bon Jovi on the radio is low and I dont listen to the radio. The only radio exposure I get is in stores.
So how did I come to enjoy Bon Jovis music? It all started with the song Its my Life. Not by Bon Jovi, but by Talk Talk, an 80s band. I was looking for Talk Talks Its my Life MIDI on the web. During my search Bon Jovis Its my Life turned up. They are totally different songs. I clicked it, curious as to how it would sound. It sounded rather nice. I elected to download the real version from the Internet. Once I heard it I was in awe. It sounded absolutely super!
For a while I just listened to Its my Life, really enjoying it but not really caring much for Bon Jovi. One day in Civics class we were learning about how we can in fact influence others for good and we watched Pay it Forward. I found the movie to be somewhat of a drag until the scene where Hayley Joel-Osments drunken father came back home. The father was played by none other than Jon Bon Jovi! I was not happy that his role was that of a drunk dad, but it opened my eyes towards Bon Jovi once more. He's like Hilary Duff, produces music and stars in films. Only difference? Jon Bon Jovi has credibility!
Then someone told me that Its my Life wasnt even Bon Jovis best song! I was shocked. Was there more? I went back to the web and downloaded two more Bon Jovi songs. I was once again impressed. It was clear that Bon Jovi was not a one hit wonder. One day before meeting a group of friends I quickly ran to HMV and bought Crossroad the Best of Bon Jovi as of 1994. When I listened to each track I really enjoyed it.
Time passed, I bought the CD with Its my Life (see I download, but I buy CDs too):
I really enjoy Bon Jovi's music. If you are curious, I recommend listening to these tracks: 'It;s my Life', 'These Days', 'Always', 'Bounce' and 'Bed of Roses.'
More music to come!
