*Käse sei mein - so singt er tatsächlich! Gemeint ist wohl "she'd be mine"; aber offenbar fühlte sich seitens der Plattenfirma niemand bemüßigt, diesen Käse "slip of the tongue" zu korrigieren, sei es, weil ihn niemand bemerkte, sei es, weil er für zu unwichtig gehalten wurde, um die Aufnahme zu wiederholen - das doofe Publikum in Germany verstand ja eh nicht, was er da sang, und eine Veröffentlichung auf dem angelsächsischen Markt war wohl nicht vorgesehen ;-)
**Das soll vermutlich "in einem Augenblick" bedeuten - Lübke wäre stolz gewesen ob solchen Einfallsreichtums des deutschen Texters ;-)
***Ein typisch deutscher Fehler: Weil bei uns in Konditionalsätzen [Wenn... dann...] zweimal der Konjunktiv steht, tendieren wir zu der Annahme, daß es in englischen Sätzen genauso sein müßte. Aber dort steht nach "If..." das Imperfekt! Richtig wäre also: "If she gave me time".
