Fantasy
Rules:
- Each week, every member of the league will be put into a head-to-head match-up
(like in Fantasy Football), one team is home and one team is away
- Drivers will be divided up into three categories based on their points standing
for that week (So, the category a driver is in may change from week to week).
Each category has been given a clever, racing-related name.
- Rank 1-10 Front Runners (A)
- Rank 11-25 Bubble Drivers (B)
- Rank 26-X Field Fillers (C)
- Before each race, you will pre-rank drivers from each category based on
who you would like to start for that week
- Four from A
- Eight from B
- Four from C
- There will then be a draft between you and your opponent for that week
- The draft will go as follows
- From the A category: Home, Away, Away, Home
- From the B category: Away, Home, Home, Away, Away, Home, Home, Away
- From the C category: Home, Away, Away, Home
- So, at this point, you will have
- Two from A
- Four from B
- Two from C
- You select one A driver, two B drivers and one C driver to start in a head
to head match up against your opponents driver(s) from that category
- If your driver has a higher finishing position than your opponent's driver
in that category, you are awarded one point in the A and C categories. In
the B category, it will be the sum of your two drivers finishing position,
will the lowest sum earning the point. If the B drivers positional sum is
a tie, then the person with the highest finishing B driver will be awarded
the point
- There are three categories, so there will be no ties, whomever has the most
points at the end, wins the week
- This win/loss will then be part of you overall, season-long, win/loss record
- There will probably be a playoff system, but Adam and I haven't thought
of that yet
- In addition to the drivers you pick from each category, you will pick one
driver for that week for a season-long suicide pool (i.e. you can only pick
each driver once throughout the season)
- You will be awarded the number of points that driver scores for the week
(based on the NASCAR scoring system) and you cumulative suicide score will
be used to break any ties between win/loss records
- This suicide score will not factor into your win/loss for the week, it will
only be used in the event of a tie
- You will pick your drivers for the draft by emailing me by Noon on Friday
- I will send out an email to everyone letting them know who everyone got
in the draft for that week
- You will then send me an email with your final starting picks by race time
- If I don't get an email from anyone, your drivers will be pre-ranked by
their points position
- If I don't receive a starting line-up, your starting line-up will be picked
by their points position
- I think that is it, let me know if you guys want to do this or if you have
any suggestions
- I'd like to get this decided by Daytona, then I'll come up with a random
schedule
- I will also work in improving the website
