Before you start reading, you should know that this chapter is for Role Players, and isn�t quite as useful for fiction writers that don�t role-play. If you are a non-role-playing fiction writer, feel free to skip this chapter.
Unfortunately, having perfect characters isn�t horrible enough for the evil beings known as �Despies�. In role playing circles, Despies often find it necessary to control the movements of other characters- including yours. This is called �Godmoding� or �Power Playing�.
In an effort to make things go their way, Despies and inexperienced RPers often try and control the actions of the people that they are RPing with. In case you don�t understand what I�m talking about, I will give you a clear-cut example of Godmoding.
�She sat there and saw his expression when he glanced at the water/ she had the itch to well..Then she just pushed him in! ''Ha ha, see its not THAT bad! ha ha'' Anessa lauphe.�
Unfortunately, this post was actually used in a role-play that I was observing. Isn�t it sad? Take a few moments to shed a tear for the patheticness of the human race at large, and then continue reading, dear guest.
Done blubbering? Good. Now, there are many ways to avoid powerplaying and Godmoding. One is to just ignore it. Have your character do something completely unrelated to whatever the powerplaying despie had just done, as if nothing had happened to your character. This is helpful when you want to piss a despie off - see Chapter VII.
Another way to make powerplayers/Godmoders stop is to do whatever they did right back to them. This lowers you to their standards, but is very, very useful. After all, everyone knows that the best way to make a Godmoder cry is to brutally beat on their character... And crying Godmoders is a good part of every RPers' balanced breakfast.
Now, to make sure that you fully understand what godmoding is, and to make this chapter a tad longer (and because we are evil and like to torment people), we will show you one or two more examples.
