Conciliations. A body of work that explores integrally linked aspects
of my racial/cultural identity in relationship to others and this land.
The termite mound symbolises our commonalities and connection to this
land as women. We are united in our dreamstate, but our faces show cosmetically
apparent racial, cultural and age differences. Our closed eyes speak also
of our isolation. The surfacing looks at the many pathways required to
create a community that celebrates and nurtures both our differences and
our similarities.
