Gyps Curmi is a Maltese
Australian artist, currently based on the North NSW coast.
"I
predominantly work with sculptural ceramics and multimedia and was a graduate
of the Southern Cross University Visual Arts program (1999). I then completed
my Graduate Diploma in Education in 2000.
I
have been an exhibiting artist for the last 9 years in both Brisbane and
regional Queensland and NSW.
I
have recently completed Certificate II in Interactive Multimedia at Wollongbar
TAFE and hope to continue my studies in the area of Design and Multimedia
in 2002.
I
have been working part time as a Visual Arts Teacher and tutor since graduating
in 2000, as well as designing book covers, flyers and graphical biographies.
Recently,
I have had my work published in raw women's diary 2001 and the We'moon
Almanac 2001.
My
work is intrinsically linked to the land and women and addresses some
of the inequities that exist within Australian communities."
