Gynni in front of the beautiful cathedral in Limburg, Germany

Angel and Gynni taking a break in front of the monument

Limburg an der Lahn, Germany

The old part of the town has many of the houses called "Fachwerkhaus" and you will also find fountains throughout the town. Limburg is a city on the Lahn river, a tributary of the Rhine. The main attraction is the distinctive church painted yellow and brown. The small town surprises with its large old town with perfectly preserved half-timbered houses from diverse centuries. The outstanding landmark of Limburg is and will be the cathedral. Majestically, the gigantic church towers over the town on an almost 30 meters high rock near the Lahn bank. But the building does not only impress the visitor by its situation. The cathedral's treasure, exposed in the adjacent museum, shows relics and ecclesiastic riches which hardly a traveler expects in such a dreamy small town.
