Fop Revel/Baronial Investiture
January 22-23, 2000 Tucson, AZ
Oyez, oyez! Greetings to all in these great lands of Atenveldt. Time is once again here for the Barony of Tir Ysgithr's annual fop Revel. This year's theme is "Heroes and Villains." Events of the day will include the investiture of Tir Ysgithr's new Baron and Baroness, as well as a feast, revel, and other assorted activities, including entertainment. Site will open at noon with opening court at 1 PM. After a short break, the investiture court of the new Baron and Baroness of Tir Ysgithr will commence followed by a feast and revel. The feast this year will be a potluck with the Barony of Tir Ysgithr providing a main meat dish. Mundane last names A-F please bring supplemental main dish (soup, stew, or meat); G-L Appetizers/Breads/Cheeses; M-R Side Dishes (vegetables, fruits, etc); S-Z Sweets/Deserts. The revel following the feast will include dancing as well as a costume contest for all those wishing to enter. Categories will be best hero, best villain, and best overall historical figure. The following day a kingdom war practice will be held to hone our fighters' skills for the upcoming war.
Site Fee: $5; 12 and under are free.
Directions: Saturday--Carpenters Hall, 606 S. Plumer. Take I-10 to Tucson and exit at Broadway. Head East on Broadway approximately 3.5 miles until you reach Plumer. Turn South on Plumer approximately half a mile. the hall will be on the West side of the street. Sunday--Himmel Park. Exit I-10 at the Speedway exit. Turn East on Speedway until Tucson Blvd. Turn South on Tucson for one block then turn East on 1st St. Himmel Park will be on the South side of the street.
