| back to part 10 Ons Leven Part 11 "Are you almost ready?" Duo asked as he glanced at his watch for the fifth time that night. ::what is he doing?:: He had been waiting for over an hour to use the bathroom. Reluctantly, he got up and walked towards the bathroom door. He quietly leaned against it placing his ear onto it's cold surface. "Heero, are you alright? You've been in there for over an hour." When no response came, Duo slowly raised his hand to the knob and carefully opened the door. He softly spoke before pushing the door open. "I'm coming in." Upon first inspection, he couldn't see Heero. "Heero?" He slowly walked passed the small wall that separated the sinks from the tub. He promptly froze. Sitting in the empty tub completely dressed with tux and shoes sat a curled figure with his head burrowed in his arms. "Heero!!" Hastily, Duo sped to his husband's side. After Carefully stepping into the tub, he firmly grabbed the other man's face and brought it up to make eye contact. Duo started. Heero's eyes were vague as if in a trance. The other man didn't so much as blink when his braided partner shook his shoulders. "Heero! Heero! Snap out of it!" "Duo" Before the American could prepare, Heero unfolded his arms and clasped them around Duo, bringing him in for a tight embrace. Caught by surprise, the braided man fell forward almost hitting himself against the hard tile wall. "Heero?!? What are you doing?!" Unsuccessfully, he tried to pry Heero off of him. "Let go! Heero, you're hurting me!" Duo felt the arms around him loosen. The quite man burrowed his face into the braided man's suit. His shoulders shook lightly as he wept. "Heero..." Long moments passed as the two men stayed there in the empty tub. As uncomfortable as it was, Duo held his kneeling position as Heero wept against his stomach. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the quiet man lifted his head and averted his eyes to the wall of the tub. "Heero?" "It doesn't feel right" Duo narrowed his eyes as he tried to sit next to the other man in the narrow tub. "What do you mean?" At this Heero looked directly at him. He gently lifted his hands to caress the beautiful face of his partner. "Duo, I didn't want to go on this trip. I guess you knew that already." The American lightly touched the hand caressing his face. "It doesn't feel right. I've felt a darkness from the very first time I heard about the vacation plans. I can't explain it. But it's exceptionally strong tonight." He pulled his hand back and allowed his head to rest on Duo's shoulder. The other man wrapped an arm around his shoulder as he continued to explain. "Something is going to happen. At first, I was afraid for Trinity. But the aura seems to linger over you. I'm afraid something will happen to you, Duo." He slipped his hand around the American's waist. "I know this sounds insane. I feel like an idiot." For a moment neither said anything. As their breathing became one, neither of them dared to move. Duo was the first to break the silence. "I don't think it sounds insane. I don't feel what you're feeling. But it doesn't sound insane. I don't know what to say, Heero." "Do you think this is crazy?" Heero lifted his head to look at Duo. Duo sighed. "No" he paused, "No, I don't think it's crazy. But you choose an empty bath tub to tell me this?" Heero narrowed his eyes. "Idiot" At that Duo smiled and embraced the other man. "I love you" ======================================== A worried frame stood and watched the moonlight hit the peaceful waves of the water. She quietly noted the air of danger that filled the peaceful scene. Reaching into her purse, she pulled out a bottle of liquid Sodium phosphate. Momentarily, the urge to throw it into the water spread and she lifted her hand. Cowardly, the woman froze and pulled her hand back down. "Isn't this ironic?" Hilde sadly spoke as she eyed the bottle. "I look so beautiful tonight. Yet, I'm about to do something so low and dirty." She gently put the bottle back in her purse. "It's almost time." Her orders were simple. She would sit at Duo's table and slip some of this into his soup. According to Relena, the side effects were horrific and instantaneous bowl movements. Hilde thought back to what the blonde had said. "It will be a perfect scandal. The short commotion will only last until Duo has completely engrossed his way out of Heero's life. It won't ruin the evening so there's nothing to worry about." But Relena was wrong. Unlike her, Hilde couldn't do something like that to another person. She hated Duo, that much was true. But to sink that low and hurt someone... The girl rested against the railing. "I can't do this." A flash of Duo kissing her hand at the harbor arose an anger in her. "But he deserves to leave Heero. This is the only way." This decided, she walked towards the elevators. "This is the only way..." =================End of Part Eleven================ Onto part 12 Back Home Send all comments to: [email protected] |
