GA Indy Top 50

January 2005

PLEASE READ FIRST!!!!

The 2004 Georgia Indy Top 50 was comprised of email ballots from contributors to the Georgia Wrestling.TK site, show results, and of the Georgia Wrestling.TK staff. The following criteria was taken into effect in the ranking process. The Names on the vote ballots that were received back were dissected and reviewed and then re-ranked according to the following: Success in Georgia Indy wrestling organizations. Meaning their wins and quality loses. A quality lose would be to a quality opponent, like a champion and top wrestler with in the fed, not a lower card wrestler/ jobber.

Consistency. To qualify for the ranking one must have wrestled frequently with in the state for a Georgia Indy fed. Because of this rule a lot of wrestlers were left out of the rankings, such that work nationally and only in the state a hand full of times a year.

Inactivity. Wrestlers that were inactive because of injury or "quit" for a majority of the year we excluded from the top 50. Wrestlers that are from other states other than Georgia, but wrestle here often are ranked in the top 50.

1. Jason Cross:

This year was a blur for Jason Cross. Cross was the most dominant wrestler in Georgia in 2004. He held two of the most prestigious titles in the state, the Wildside and GCW HWT titles. He appeared in the First TNA PPV and Countless X-division matches on Multiple PPV's. He appeared at a WWE PPV. Whether he is appearing for Wildside, GCW, Spinebuster, ROH, or FIP, he is a top draw everywhere.

2. Rainman:

Rainman has ventured out this year. Last year he dominated the Georgia Indy Scene. This year he has ventured out to FIP, ROH, and IWA MidSouth in the Ted Petty Invitational(featuring the best Indy talent in the world). He also held 1/2 of the Wildside tag titles for the 4th time.

3. Fast Eddie:

The most dominant Cruiser weight champion ever. Eddie won the Wildside Jr. title last year and still has it 13 months and counting. Eddie has amazed fans nationally at FIP, ROH, TNA, and has been at WWE shows in his native Texas.

4. Onyx:

Onyx held the Wildside HWT. title 11 months coming into the year and regained it at the end of the year, which puts him in an elite class of wrestlers. he was signed by TNA in the summer and before that had workouts for WWE.

5. David Young:

Young is a household name to Georgia Indy fans. He has been around for more than 10 years and counting. He wrestles for TNA and wrestles regularly for GCW as a member of bad company.

6. Sonny Siaki:

The former power plant graduate has come into his own. Some may remember him from TCW (Dusty Rhodes fed), then he broke out on TNA. He is one of the most hated wrestlers in Columbus for GCW.

7. Preston Paradise:

Preston is considered the most dominant wrestler to not get a shot at the big-time yet. He dominates where ever he goes. He dominated GIWA and Spinebuster. Preston has been said to make any opponent look good and has been credited to carrying tag teams to championships on his talent alone.

8. Ray Gordy:

Ray Gordy is a guy that is going places. He held the Wildside Jr. and HWT. titles. He mainly stayed in the northern Feds this year, but he got a great amount of exposure nationally by wrestling for ROH, IWA Mid-south, OVW, and several matches with WWE.

9. Vordell Walker:

Vordell was known as the man in the southern part of the state. Problem was no one above Macon seen him. Well, luckily for Vordell TNA moved to Orlando where he was able to get a number of dark matches and Impact matches for TNA. FIP opened up in Tampa (FIP is dubbed the ROH of the South) and Vordell is now getting the long over due exposure he deserves.

10. Tank:

Tank rounded out the year by being the only man to hold the Wildside tag titles with 4 different partners. Tank had a great showing at the IWA-Mid South "King of the Death match tournament". He is the only man in the history of the tournament who had an opponent quit and walk out in fear of wrestling him.
