REPRESENTATION ON NATIONAL BOARDS
The Guyana Nurses Association is represented on the following National Boards and Committees:

* The Central Board of Health - This Board monitors public health/environmental health matters throughout Guyana. The GNA representative is YVETTE WILSON, HEALTH VISITOR

* The Georgetown Public Hospital Management Committee - This committee decides on policy issues pertinent to the management of the Georgetown Public Hospital. The GNA's representative is MARVA HAWKER, SECRETARY.

The Guyana Cancer Society - This committee looks at cancer issues in Guyana. The GNA's representative is still to be named.

The General Nursing Council - This is the body that regulates and license nurses to practise in Guyana. The GNA's representative is Elizabeth Bobb, PRESIDENT.


Nurses are nominated and elected from the Executive and general membership to serve on committees. They are expected to report at Executive and General meetings of the Association on the work of committees and Boards where they serve. Both verbal and written reports are submitted.
