John Bonham (drummer from Led Zeppelin)
Led Zeppelin was the first band I realy got into - their album IV (the one with Black Dog and Stairway on it) was the first record I bought with my own money! John Bonham (who died in 1980 - 4 years before I had heard of them) was a groundbreaking drummer and still rates as one of the best ever. I had wanted to visit this place since about 1985 - and 17 years later here I am. It is located in a small village called Rushock which is about 40 minutes drive south west of Birmingham and, as you can see, is out in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful and peaceful spot, and I am thrilled I got to go there. |
