Visiting the Dead (Part 2) - Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)
I grew up listening to guitar bands of the 70's and 80's, and Thin Lizzy were always and still are one of my faves because of their awesome dual guitar line-up that provides us with the best guitar harmonies I still think ever recorded. The trip (on Wednesday Nov 27 2002) to Sutton wasn't too tough - train from Dublin about 40 minutes north-east, then about a 45 minute walk north again to the cemetary. The fact it was damn cold and pouring with rain certainly didn't deter this lad - especially as getting here had been a dream for a long time. Boys Are Back In Town is more than likely the only Lizzy track you know of, but if you can get your hands on anything, I thoroughly recommend it. In particular their live albums (Live and Dangerous / Life Live). |
