Hey everyone, This is my new website, I hope you all enjoy it I had one of my computer genious friends back home hook me up with the lay out. Im sure that you all by now have read the article from the Tacoma News Tribune,.. Well thats a basic day here in my life here in Iraq. Wake up early, go out and look for trouble, and come back when the day is over. Im liking this mission although its different from doing security at the hospital, or escorting convoys all over Iraq. Doing these Patrols are somthing that Military Police are espically needed for. Although I can not get into specifics, I can say that we are out for one sole reason and that is to investage ANYTHING that doesnt look right. From Traffic Check Points, Dismounted foot patrols, to even the occasional high speed persuit. Some days are slow and boringm others are quite the opposite. Take this week for example, early in the week I read the news paper that the US military provides for US Soldiers here in Iraq and one of the main articles was about $190.000.00 worth of electronics being stolen from Camp Victory. The very next day we set up an early morning  traffic check point, and sure enough we stopped a kia hatchback full of Iraqi men, while searching the vehicle we found 4 hudge gunny sacks filled with brand new unopened DVDs and cartons of cigerattes. Sure enough the DVDs were bought on the Black Market in Iraq, and were being resold. Everyone was eventually released with their DVD's and Cigerattes. We could not conficate their goods, cause its not against the law in Iraq to 1. Buy from the black market, and 2, none of the electronics had US stickers..(kinda like a price tag that WalMart would put on its stuff) A motar is type of missle/rocket/hudge bullet. These are shot from the ground 15,000 feet in the air and down on their target, kinda like a hudge rainbow. Its a simple weapon, the rounds are shot out of a tube that is aimed into the air. These tubes can be easily hidden in gardens, mud huts, and even the back of a truck. Camp Anaconda (where I am stationed) recieves anywhere from 2-3- motar attacks on a given day. On very rare occasions we recieve upwardsof 10-12. Anyway one hit really damn close this week, some say 25meters from our building, no one was seriously hert but alot suffered from earaches and headaches including me. We were all checked out a the clinic and given a clean bill of health. The followng day my face was a little sore from the explosion/impact but im perfectlyfine now. Our building however was not so lucky, shrapnel busted out windows, and damaged vehicles. Chunks of concrete are missing from the side of our building, and even our porta pottys are filled with holes from shrapnel,... good thing I wasnt in there!! Looking back all I can remember is a few things from that split second.I was walking down a hall with glass windows that open into our courtyard, someone asked where PVT Guillen was, and I yelled he's in my room, then outof no where the LOUDEST explosion I ever herd went off, dirt came from the ceiling, windows broke, and a hudge dustcloud coverd our building, I honestly though they hit our building. Everyone in the hallway dove and took cover, a couple guys had walls on both sides of them, I had glass on both sides, luckilly there were 2 sofas out (from people sweeping) and I went down between them for a second then hauled ass to my room to get my gear on.. The Base alarm went off alerting everyone of a motar attack, so they could take cover, we had and accounability check and waitied for the all clear and we went outside 45minutes after to see the aftermath.. here are some pics.

****ACCUALLY I JUST DECIDED NOT TO POST PICTURES OF THE ABOVE INCODENTS, A FRIEND TOLD ME I MAY GET IN TROUBLE IF I POST THEM****
