The Gus Boyle Revue
2005 Aubrey Wiseman Golf Review.
Team #1
Considerable talent to be found on this team with Robbie "SLOWMAN AT WORK" Youden who must settle in ,play his game and not carry as heavy a load as he did in 2004.Glen "GUITAR" Martin will deliver on day one but may find the lack of feeling in his fingers a hinderence on day two.Roddie "I'LL POUR" Drohan knows his way around the course,as do most good bartenders, will contribute early but may fade down the stretch.Lastly there's Steve "WHO'S YOUR DADDY" MacDonald known more for pampering his teamates{keeps em snug and dry}can deliver the goods but may be affected by the late night feedings.
TEAM #2
Team Dino, though getting long in the (saber) tooth, are back for another shot at the elusive Wiseman cup. Lead by Kenny "THE KID" MacRae, the youngster will have to be at the top of his game for the Old Boys Club to avoid extinction. The remaining Dino cast of geriatrics Doug " THE ADMIRAL" MacNeil, Bobby " DID YA HEAR WHAT MEATHEAD DID" Dunn, and Wally "WHERE'S THE FLAG?" Hines will have to raise their game to the next level if they want to sip from the cup.
TEAM #3
Now here's a dark horse team with plenty of unknowns. First off will Kent "HOMES" MacPherson be able to handle the pressures that go along with being a Wiseman 1st timer? He has the tools [SHAWN+ALMOND] but this is INGO and the Wiseman. Almond "NUTS " MacDonald may be able to keep the rookies nerves at bay with his infamous KIKAPU-JOY-JUICE-IN- A -JUG. Shawn [my god, that picture] "THE KOOK" MacDonald, can hit it long and has done it all. If the night before the day after doesn"t get him, look out! Note: The rumor mill is swirling about a forth for this team and my sources say this "Phantom Golfer" will be riding in from the west coast. True or False?, The golf world will know by the 10th.
TEAM #4
Strong contenders lead by Greg "Speaker of the House" Macleod who is whole again after having Bobby "Ha Ba" Latham reattached to his hip (these two make one hell of a golfer). Back this year after a year off is Mylo "The Hunky Dorey" Paruch, capable but can be distracted by the local flora and fauna. Rounding out this group is Mike "Cha Ching" Murphy, another big gun that may crack under the "what"S" up with Bobby?" question he'll hear from everyone in attendance, constantly, over and over, in his sleep, in the can, at the fire , teeing
uP.....
TEAM #5
Cheech and Chong couldn't have put together a better team. Larry "The Big O" Dunn fresh off the Glace Bay circuit in 2004 should have steely nerves in his favor. Greg "Garby" MacCarron, a senior on the tour (should be on team dino) could help this squad, if they let him mark score. Joey "Got a Light" Martell is braced for a tough tournament and should do well if he stays on the grass.[fairway]. Lastly on this team of Ashby-ites is rookie Dave "Rugged" Riggs who could contribute but should just sit back and take it all in, the sites, the sounds, the aroma (Joey's incense), the entire atmosphere of his first Aubrey Wiseman.
Enjoy all!
