The B.Sc. Computer Science course was introduced by Mumbai University in 1999. This was to cope with the demand of IT professionals in the industries. A large number of students wished to do the course, but everybody can’t go for engineering (B.E. Computers) and there was urgent need for especially software professionals. This course is ideal for that. First year student can go for physics, Math and Computer Science combination. So students also have the option in case they wish to divert to physics or math.

   Second good point is that student learns web designing, networking, java, Advanced Java, oracle and VB 6.0 by the time they finish their graduation. So by this time they are very pretty clear about where their strength lie in networking or web-designing or database projects. So accordingly one can select his/her area of interest.

                     With B.Sc. Computer Science background, one can go for M.C.A. or M.B.A. (Computer System). Since there is ever growing need for I.T. managers and System analysts with management skills.

   Although currently I.T. Market isn’t as much in boom as it was, there is essentially requirment of IT professionals and hence job opportunities are always there.

   It’s just that one need to be aware of market demand, corse, personal intent and also the right choice!!!
