RAZER came over our radio frenquency and began to try an attack on our MORALE. Starting with a witty song about our tactics, he degenerated into underhand comments about the 69th Airsoft. Afte a while, I had had enough of his rubbish and jamming on our frequency, so moved around everyone, informing them of a NEW radio channel and instructing them to maintain radio silence unless they had contact.

Within minutes, Mantis radioed in, our patrol has made contact! I waited to see what would happen next and within a few seconds, heard someone open up on automatic. I decided to head back to the defense team and moved through the front door, into SCAREY CORNER. Rounds were coming in from uphill somewhere and Mantis was soon heard on the radio, Weve got the COBRA team over here. I moved upto Sabs position and informed him that there were probably 4 attackers. Before moving off to my sentry position. We sat tight and could hear a limited firefight over near the back door. Several guns were firing long bursts and I could hear they were at long range. With nine of our players in defense, I was not worried that we would be pushed back. Indeed only about 4 of our guys were returning fire and the rest were laid in wait of a flanking manouevre.

After a mad minute, the firing stopped and I figured that CK had pulled back. Sab called me over and said he had just seen 4 guys moving away through the trees 100m away. Stinger informed me that he had intercepted the other teams radio transmissions and that they had scored the 5 points from the RECCE TASK. Once again, we waited and expected an organised attack, now the opponents knew our position for sure.

However, nothing much happened. Our away team reported that they had ambushed 3 guys by the top fenceline. Apparantly they got all 3, from pointblank range, but at the cost of Wraith, being Tagged. 10 minutes later, they contacted me again and informed me that they had tagged the Cobra Team (apart from Creaser, who had been hit in a friendly fire incident.) With 6 tags for 1 against, I was pleased with their work.

I spotted the CK team heading over and after abit of confusion. Saw them leaving the TAG ZONE (still Tagged out) and they apparantly moved off to Team 2's defensive Tag Zone, to rejoin the game.

With no sign of CLAN SUICIDE or UE, I still expected an attack.

MANTIS moved into a contact!
Spectre in the grass.
Signalling Satan, I moved off and briefed him. I figured that I could rig a booby trap on the bottom path (next to the river) just outside our perimeter and that he would provide security on while I was vulnerable. We moved off and completed the job in 5 minutes.

The Marshals radioed through and informed me that a second TASK had become available; to take and HOLD a taped off area at a specified grid reference. The TASK would last an HOUR, whichever team has men inside at that time, would score 5 points.

I decided that Wraith and Spectre would be unable to complete this FIREFIGHT task alone, should our opponents send out a fair sized assault team. So opted to send out an Assault team of our own. Trying to raise MANTIS, as I wanted him to lead it; I found him out of contact.

Turned out his radio had switched itself off, without him being aware of it.

So I chose to do something that I had not done all weekend. I could see the 69th wanted some action and this was their chance. I opted to send out 4 of them and picked NETE to stay back and defend, just because he had a sniper rifle (which would prove more effective in defense.) So Satan, Capt, Sab and Nilz all readied themselves and set off, after I briefed them on the route that I wanted them to take. I also sent a radio message through to the TMA away team, instructing them to move to an area near the SPECIFIED GRID (other side from the 69th's route) and act as a SUPPORTING TEAM. (ie. if there is contact, move up and counter attack.)

Spectre contacted me via radio and asked me for the location of the 69th ASSAULT TEAM, as he had just made contact with someone. I told him the 69th had just left our camp, which was enough for him to work out that his contact was not friendly. Soon after, he radioed in to confirm that he had TAGGED Spunkmeyer (the opposing sniper).

Nilz radioed to explain that he could see the objective area and that it was 1 fullgrid out. Indeed he was right as already explained. I told him to move in and take the area. Unfortunatley, the assault team had now wandered into the Support team's firearc and were ambushed. In a friendly fire incident, Spectre and Wraith shot up Nilz and Sab. I felt responsible for this mistake and perhaps should have pulled one of the teams out of the area to avoid it happening.

The 69th radioed in, to confirm they had control of the TARGET AREA and strangely their was little contact or sign of TEAM 2. At the end of the TIME LIMIT, they scored the 5 points. MANTIS returned and apologised for being out of contact. We had another tally up of points scored and figured we were still ahead. Seeing movement across the field from my position, I spotted SPUNKMEYER making his way to TEAM 2's TAG ZONE. Spectre, radioed to confirm that the sniper was going to rejoin the game. I signalled MANTIS and we moved off to try and ambush him.
