DAY 1, June 2002

G-MAN and PAXO had now passed the lower plateau and moved up into the JUNGLE (large bog). PHANTOM pushed upto to cover the ridge. PAPABEAR kept the flag in sight and moved 10m behind the bunker.

UE had flanked up the tree line to the trenches and were getting ready for contact any second. G-MAN and PAXO pushed up over the highground, still carrying the TAG ZONE. Walking into the UE players, they were both "HIT!" dumping the TAG POLE, they set off to an established TAG ZONE.

Pushing forward, UE spread out in extended line. GHOSTSHELL moved in towards the pillbox, backed up by WIZ. NUT was on the higher ground and PHANTOM watched him through his WIDE ANGLE scope. Waiting till NUT sat down 45m away, PHANTOM squeezed the trigger. The 0.30g flew true, "HIT!"

PAPABEAR popped up with MONGO and let rip, TAGGING GHOSTSHELL with a volley of semi automatic 0.23g BB's. STICK was HIT too. CHARLIE now concentrated on WIZ who, under the crossfire, decided to bug out.

PAXO and G-MAN rejoined the game and sallied forward, reaching the ridge. CHOPPER, DODGER, NUT, WIZ and GHOSTSHELL returned and engaged. CHOPPER sat on the crest in good cover, using his AK as a suppressive tool. He lay down rounds at 3 CHARLIE team. After a skirmish with PAXO, he was HIT. The others spread out in extended line.

PHANTOM had repositioned higher up the JUNGLE and watched as 2 of the UE came into view. Waiting till they came within 50m, he opened up. "Watch out for that sniper!" someone shouted. But none of them could locate him. On his 4th shot, he got a "HIT!"

PAPABEAR and PAXO engaged the rest, scoring 2 TAGS, but again PAXO was tagged. All went quiet.

PHANTOM changed mags and flanked uphill, after spotting movement on the ridge 80m away. Wasting no time, he moved out of the dead ground, and approached the ridge from above. Spotting DODGER reloading 40m away, he held his fire. Opting he to close in for a more certain HIT, he was spotted. Dodger made it to cover and put down a burst. Deciding to leave, PHANTOM bugged out, without firing. PAXO was HIT again.

Regrouping at camp, CHARLIE reloaded and downed some fluids. PAXO shouted "CONTACT" from the lower trench. PHANTOM sprang into action and dashed off to flank the attackers. Moving around the fields perimeter, he shouted out the attackers location to his team mates.

STINGER was on point, with STICK backing him up. CHOPPER was hidden and ready to cover.

Firing started and all of CHARLIE responded. PAPABEAR moved down the trench firing as he went. STINGER was "HIT" and CHOPPER lay down some cover, through the gorse. He took several bursts, before being HIT by a ricochet, off a tree. PHANTOM moved along Bear's ridge, spotting STICK, he aimed and shot; "HIT!"

The attack force had been taken out, but meanwhile the other 3 UE players had dropped in from behind. Nearing the flag, they opened up from behind, quickly getting HITS on PAXO, G-MAN and PAPABEAR. They moved in, finding the stash of kit and grabbing PAPABEAR's bergen tag.

PHANTOM spotted them, as he re-entered camp. "ALPHA is in the camp!" he yelled, firing his APS at the dark shapes. "HIT" cycling the bolt, he fired again, "HIT!" CHARLIE restormed the camp and were relieved to see the FLAG still intact.
