Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Singh is working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Director at Punjab Institute of Technology, Rajpura, Punjab, India. It is an Constituent college of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda. He has also served in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology from 24-07-2016 to 10-09-2017. Before that he was working with Yamuna Group of Institutions, Gadholi in the department of Computer Science & Engineering at Yamuna Institute of Engineering & Technology from 1st, January, 2010 in the capacity of Dean Academics & Assistant Professor (CSE). He was also given the additional charge as Head of Computer Science & Engineering in January, 2011 after successfully completing his course work of Ph.D. at Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab, India.  He has more than 24 Years of experience.

He received Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab (India). He has received his M.Tech. (CSE) and B.Tech. (CSE) from Punjab Technical University, Jalndhar, Punjab (India). He is also certified from CISCO (CNAP - CISCO networking Academy Program) in 2002 and Microsoft (MCSD - Microsoft Certified Software Developer, MCP - Microsoft Certified Professional) in 1998.

He has published over 120 papers in reputed journals and conferences in India and Abroad. He has also organised National and International Conferences as Organising Secretary and Member of Technical Program Commitee / Advisory Commitee. He has been reviewer of many national and international journals. He has published/granted with over 13 patents from India and Abroad. He has also written 04 books. His research topics are mainly focused in area of Ant Colony Optimization, Mobile Adhoc Networks and Routing Protocols (both in wired and wireless environment). His research interests mainly include:

  • Wireless Computing, Wireless Networks, Mobile Ad-hoc Networks.
  • Applications of ACO (Ant Colony Optimization) and PSO (Particle Swarm Optimisation) in the field of Computer Networks.
  • Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Computer Networking, Routing in static Networks, Network Communication, QoS.
  • Network Performance Analysis & Evaluation, Network Architecture, TCP, UDP.
  • Networks Simulation using NS-2, TCL, OTCL, Perl, AWK.
  • BlockChain and Security Algorithms.
  • Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science.
