Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education started computers in the year 2002. The  syllabus is kept very elementary keeping in mind the students of the troubled state. It is started from Class 6th and continues up to Class 10th. The books have been titled "LIFE WITH COMPUTERS". The board will upgrade the syllabus after 3 years and would become at par with different education boards.

Course Contents: Concepts, Software, Hardware, Kid Pix, Word processing, E-mail, Internet.
