This was the first car I ever built, and though I doubt I'd do it again this way I still find it a nice piece of work.

| Since I already have a white circus engine plus four flat cars I decided I needed an elephant car. In a modelbuilding magazine I found a sketch with measurementsof such a car in hO, issued yearsago by Maerklin, with Circus Krone markings | ||||||||||||||||||

| To make it suitable for narrow gauge, I exchanged the single axles with double axle trucks. Otherwise,I stuck to the original measurements, which resulted in a car of 2 ft 2 in long (665 mm). | ||||||||||||||||||

| As you can tell by the detail pic, the car has suffered a bit from our last move, and needs some restaurations. At that time, I'll also replace the handrails with something a bit more substantial. This was the first car I ever built, and though I doubt I'd do it again this way I still find it a nice piece of work. |
