Gungnir's Trains
Backer & Rueb Engine
The Backer & Rueb tramway engines were the mainstay of many of the Dutch local railways and tramways. They came in a variety of versions, the one built by me is a "generic" model. Engines like these were in use till the 1940' or 50'. It must be realistic, since a lot of people who have seen it were sure it was one from their local railway.

The mechanical part is the engine and wheels of a LGB KoF from a cheap starter set I bought years ago. The body is styrene sheet, the kettle started its life as a piece of drainage pipe. The lights were made out of a piece of plastic pipe. There are three lights: a white front light, a red rear light, and a yellow bulb under the kettle to simulate the fire.
To assure proper traction, I used the led weight from the KoF as the kettle mount.
The model is almost complete, it still misses some handrails and numberplates
