HIJSM Caboose
This model is based on a caboose used by the HIJSM, one of the forerunners of the present Dutch national railway company, NS. This type of goods train caboose dates back to the 19th century. Because of the lookout sections it was called a "buikje" or tummy. (See sketch below)

I rescaled the model to make it suitable for narrow gauge,but I think I managed to keep the looks intact.

Everything on this model was home built, including the frame. For the body I used balsa strips and plastic profiles. The roof was shaped with balsastrips (again), and covered with sand paper. The sliding doors open.

The model has a standard LGB closing light, plus interior lighting that may be switched on or of. A pot-bellied stove keeps the guard warm in winter.
Some things that need fixing are the hand rail of the rear balcony, and a better hinge for the front end door.
