Woke up, cleaned house, and went with Mark,
Shelton, and Andrew on an almost 4 hour tour through horrible Thanksgiving
traffic to Long Beach and back, hee hee...we went to pick up Kwan Po-Po.
She's pretty dang cool - lots of good insights, and at the same time,
never lacking compliments and a desire to hook up all the young people
she's ever met, as is necessary for usual happy-go-lucky-elderly Chinese
ladies. ^_^ She's known my mom for a long time and has seen her grow up -
kinda like how Christine Zae-Zae is to me. =)
Had lunch around 3:30, because of the
traffic, followed by some Romeo and Juliet - the modern version is pretty
funky. Like it's a really bad movie, but funny because of the way they
over do things and such. =) This was followed almost immediately with the
big dinner, where we had a ton of people over for delicious food. =)
Dinner ranged from pig ears to ham, curry chicken, mashed potatoes, shrimp
salad, to tasty desserts, like the Mango Mousse Cake (which I now own the
recipe to!) and bakery goods straight from San Francisco, brought by a
family that was visiting here. =) Stuffed to the max, as we should be. =)
Just got out of shower and am now, finally,
at rest. =)
God is good. Thanksgiving is a good
reminder to us just how good He is, though it'd be nice if we didn't need
to be reminded by special days like Christmas and Easter. =)
Last night, we had dinner at Banana Bay,
for Graham. Besides Ralm playing Bugdom on his iMac (it's an addicting
game, hee hee...you get to be a roly poly who kicks away bad insects and
free ladybugs, hee hee...), we loitered at the restaurant for quite some
time, but it was all good. =) Pictures will be uploaded sometime this
weekend! ^_^
As promised, the
cookie recipe!
^_^ I couldn't make it, as I wasn't able to pick up the ingredients, but
here it is anyways. I should post up that Mango Mousse Cake, Butter Mochi,
and Chocolate Lust as well sometime too. Those are two really good ones as
well. =) Oh wait. I'll just make a recipe page. Done. Word of caution - it
will be SLOWWWWLY updated. =)
11.25.03,
Tuesday:
[10:15pm] I woke up this morning, completely
disoriented as to what day it was, hee hee...I thought it was Monday at
first, and then Sunday...and then realized later it was Tuesday, hee hee...I
think it was cuz I went to sleep early last night! Either way...tomorrow, it
will be like it's Friday. Ahhh. ^_^
Aw, I can't go with Rosalyn to the special
cake/chocolate/goody store tomorrow night...=( I wanted to check out this
place, as well as find some yummy chocolate for the Ultimate Chocolate Chip
Cookie recipe I have. My goodness, it's so yummy! My mentor teacher gave it
to me - I will post it here next time so you can all try it too! =) I had to
cancel, because I found out CCF will take Graham out to dinner, before he
leaves. Oh, but no worries, Graham's cool too, hee hee, and we do hope that
he can come back one day! =) But I will have to reserve a special day
just to go to Buena Park with Ros! ^_^
I cheated and read
A Child Called 'It' before the other books - I couldn't put it down. I
recommend it! ^_^
I like this verse: "May the Lord smile on you..."
(Numbers 6:25 [NLT]) ^_^
I haven't watched Buffy in a while...I'm sure it simply ain't the same...=(
11.23.03,
Sunday:
[05:35pm] I've been up quite late the past few
days...so I plan on napping early tonight, hee hee...^_^
We led worship at church today. I think it
went well, mostly. =) There weren't complaints anyways, hee hee...Like, I
know, "it's all the same, and God appreciates it, even if it does sound
bad"...but at the same time, we're never really fully prepared and at full
power, and I still get a little nervous. I'm not quite confident about
singing up there - the shower is less intimidating, hee hee. But I know
it's getting better each time, and I gain a wee bit ol' confidence each
time. Despite what many people think, I'm not always comfortable in front
of an audience. Teaching is different, heh heh. Moderating at church, I'm
cool with. Teaching or talking to peers and those older than me on things
I know about, I'm cool with too. But singing??? Hee hee...^_^
The cool thing was that we had more
participation today, in terms of people coming up to sing with us. Fred
brought in some ringers - Jason for the drums, and David to sing with us.
=)
Thanksgiving luncheon today - mmm! No
mashed potatoes. But still tasty. =)
Went to Rowland Heights with my mom
afterwards, shopped for groceries and Chinese herbal things (it's amazing
what all those dried things really are...hee hee...I see something new
every time!), stopped by the tiny Puente Hills Mall (and I thought we were
ghetto! Nope...Galleria at Riverside is pretty stylin'...it's been
renovated though, so it has been better for a long time) to pass some
time. I've started a wee bit of Christmas shopping - picked up two gifts.
Actually, I did get some things a few weeks ago, so I guess technically,
I've started. Kinda. I simply pick them up as I go, I guess. I did get
some good gloves for cheap though - my current gloves are cool, but they
get soaked through every time I play in the snow. =) These ones are also
from Gap, but on sale, and they won't get soaked through. So I can use
both and keep my hands warm no matter what! ^_^
I saw a cool book at B&N yesterday -
another something I have my eye on, hee hee...:
The Science Book
"As with all discoveries, it is the eye and not
the object that changes."
"The calling of each name triggers a
reaction in the audience. People run crouching down the aisles to snap
pictures. Family, relatives, friends cheer the graduate. Some cheers are
modest: a little handclapping, a 'Yea, Sarah!', a 'Go get 'em, Nicky!'.
Other families are more boisterous: leaping from their seats, arms waving,
two-fingered whistles, moose calls, stomping the floor. It's hard not to
make comparisons, hard not to notice who gets the loudest cheer, the
longest, the most outrageous, the most camera flashes. It's like a last
minute, before-you-get-outta-here, final test. Zinkoff tries not to look at
it that way...Still, he can't help thinking it must be nice to have somebody
go bonkers over you. That is, assuming you have somebody there to begin
with, which he isn't assuming anymore because he still hasn't located
his parents out there...and it's getting to the point where he'll be
thankful for just a peep."
These
Nek Songs that are on this mp3 CD that
Ducky gave me. Nek is this Italian singer. If my bro listened, I'm sure he'd
say Nek is almost or just as sexier than Enrique, hee hee...You'll have to
ask him about that. ^_^
