 In the 1970's, Guitarist John McLaughlin formed ~Shakti~ 
with great musicians from India:
Violinist L. Shankar
 Tabla player Zakir Hussain
 Ghatam (claypot ) and Mridangam player T.S. Vinayakram ("Vikku"), 
and  also Mridangam player R. Raghavan .
Their first presentations 
included one  with some Chinmoy disciples

 Here are scrapbook pages relating to that band and those musicians.
