In 1968, London based guitarist John McLaughlin left England,
 moving to New York City, going straight to Harlem,
 to join be a member of a trio,~ The TONY WILLIAMS LIFETIME~







 In 1979, John McLaughlin and many other musicians travelled to Cuba,
performing at a special event called ~HAVANA JAM~, recorded by CBS Records. 
 Here he relaxes at the beach with Weather Report's leader, and bass guitarist:
 John McLaughlin...........Josef Zawinul...(the late) Jaco Pastorius .


 John McLaughlin, Jaco , and Tony Williams played there as the TRIO OF DOOM, 
 but, according to McLaughlin it was not musically successful for him ...
