| Above is my New hobby, a 2002 VY SS Commodore. I bought it second hand with only 36,000k's on the clock, a 6 speed manual gearbox and a full leather interior. A high capacity tow bar was fitted when I purchased the car (2100kg braked) and it already had a modified exhaust fitted. After changing the rear tyres twice, I finally had a full set of 235 / 45 / 18 rubbers wrapped around the factory 18 x 8" rims. Since I am trying to maintain a "Sleeper" profile for the car I won't be lowering the car at all in any great hurry. Further handling modifications will be done as much as possible without changing the ride height as viewed above along with brake upgrades that will fit within the factory wheels. Since I love the car so much tho I may lower it and change the wheels at a later date. Next stop is the modifications Programme. This will be a fully detailed explanation of all the changes made to my currently standard car, I will be happy to share any details with those who ask. |

| Upon returning to my reliable dyno shop, I put the SS up for a run to see what was what. Peak Power = 213.9 rwkw Considering this run with only a 25% power loss, the motor is producing 285.2kw, a good 50kw more than factory. The result was quite supprising considering that the quality of the exhaust is rubbish and is only from the factory manifolds back with the cats removed. |

| After completing the first dyno run I decided it would be a hell of a lot of fun to see exactly what would happen it I started to modify the LS1. The prospect of lots of horses in a factory looking family sedan is very appealing, especially since it is a V8 and all the boy racers love to think there turbo'd sports cars are the fastest things on 4 wheels. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
