GOLDEN TRIANGLE WRITERS GUILD PRESENTS...
 an exciting mini writing competition.

THE WRITING JAR

What is the Writing Jar?

It's a writing prompt to shake things up!  Let's give our writing a jar!

< jar >-  Pronunciation[jahr] to vibrate, rattle, or shake. A jolt or shake; a vibrating movement, as from a concussion.

Do you need a whack to the creative side of your brain, something to get your writing going, something to fuel an active imagination?  Or maybe you're just bored with the poor quality of television and need something else to do.  Well, the WRITING JAR is for you!  See our Writing Jar rules below.

THE WRITING JAR  -  UPDATE

We are now in now in Phase 2 of our 2nd Edition of the Writing Jar.

The Second Edition of the Writing Jar began Dec. 11 with Laurie Kolp, Our 1st Edition Grand Prize winner, drawing our next 30 words.  At our January meeting Laurie won the Best Sentence Award.

Our Writing Jar Second Edition (Dec. 2007) WINNING SENTENCE is...

"Do you question the vivid, beautiful, happy heart I say is human?
by Laurie Kolp

Our 250 words or less were turned in at our March 08 meeting.  Click the link below to see the entries and cast your vote.

THE WRITING JAR 2nd Edition Phase 2 Entries

Due to the problems with the website that we have been experiencing, we are extending the voting time on The Writing Jar 2nd Edition Phase 2 through the month of April ending Monday May 5th, 2008.  The winners will be announced at our May 12th meeting.  At this time the judging is open to all members and prospective members of the Golden Triangle Writers Guild.  This contest is a fun way to inspire our writing.  Please take the time to vote on your favorite.
