Audubon Council sponsored workshop held at David Vincent Martial Arts--TaeKwonDo class
Allison & Makayla, with other Council troops, learned self defense and how to be alert for dangerous situation.
Abbey, Allison and Makayla planned workshop for SU 632 Brownie Troops 174, 348, 506, 509. Abbey and Brenda led the workshop at Do Right Baptist Church in Gonzales. Abbey led "Write Away" activities: Interactive Storytime and Postcard to a Friend; "Me and My Shadow" activties: Shadow & Light Plaque and Mirror Game. Brenda led "Write Away" activities: All About Me Book and Telegraph Stor; "Me & My Shadow" activities: Silhouette and Shadow Tag.
Campout theme: "sports." We stayed in Shady Haven cabin 3. Saturday after breakfast, we had to go to town for tennis shoes. {note: Makayla's camp name is "Flip Flop"}, then onto team games of sack race, ball race, tug of war, 3-legged race (2nd note: daisy team beat us soundly.. it was about teamwork!). After lunch workshops: canoes, crafts, swimming and downtime when Ally and Brenda blazed a long unused trail. {Ms Brenda's camp name is Goose--ever since our first 1995 hiking trip at Marydale--as in lost as...) Saturday night pep rally, fire ring and smores (Ally became Allison-son for her karate chop on the graham crackers and Nic became Beesknees for our troop team name "Bumble Bees cuz we think Girl Scouts is the Beesknees". Our camp cheer had to do with proper foot wear. Sunday we led grace and set up for breakfast, then took part in an impromtu Challenge course workshop after kapers.
Catholic Faith Award Project
Abbey is hard at work earning her last religious award "The Spirit Alive" Catholic Faith. Part of the project was to hold a "baby shower." The troop donated baby items that Abbey will bring to the Baton Rouge Right to Life Organization that helps families in need.

The girls were awards the patches, service bars and pins that they earned during the 2007-2008 year. Adult leaders also received awards. Nancy received the Appreciation Pin for her dedication to our troop, SU 632 and Audubon Council. Niki received Outstanding Volunteer for her dedication to the troop and SU 632 troops. Carol and Karen Babineaux received the Green Angel for their continuous help to our troop abd /SU 632. It was great night of fellowship and good food.
