Dokugakuji is actually Goyjo's brother. His actual name was Jien. But they are not totally brothers. They have the same father, but a different mother. Dokugakuji's mother was a youkai and Goyjo's mother was a human. His father cheated on Dokugakuji's mother, and gave birth to Goyjo. Therefore, Goyjo is a human, and Dokugakuji is a demon.
Dokugakuji is one of the protectors and friends of our Prince, Kougaiji. He decided to protect Kougaiji because he thought Kougaiji remainded him of his little brother, Goyjo. And I must say, they have nothing in common.
Dokugakuji and Goyjo fight many times, and Dokugakuji actually killed his mother to save his brother. Dokugakuji strikes as a very kind, but determined person.
