| 2004-2005 Varsity Highlights The Golden Rams are coming off arguably the best season in school history. Highlands qualified for the team playoffs for the first time ever with a runner-up finish in WPIAL Section 1-AA. Unfortunately, the Rams exited the playoffs after a criteria decided match at Mount Pleasant against Derry. The team set a school record for dual wins finishing with an 18-9 record. Nathan Tomporoski won Section 1, WPIAL and SW Regional titles at 215# and finished 7th at the PIAA tournament. Eddie Petrosky placed second in the section and third at WPIALs at 125# before bowing out of the Regional Tournament. Returning starters who placed at sections were Nick Glesk (2nd), Phil Scalise (2nd), Aaron Boyko (3rd) and Lance Flowers (3rd) all qualified for WPIALs along with Senior Bill Orris (3rd), giving the Rams 7 WPIAL qualifiers, also a school record. Losing only seniors Bill Orris and Tyler Wolfe to graduation leaves Highlands with a squad filled with veteran upperclassmen looking to improve in 2005-2006. |
