Epidemiology Of Ecstasy Use
Reports indicate recent increases in MDMA use in Europe, North America
and Australia. It is thought that the highest rates of use are among
16-29 year olds in Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK, with more than
a million young people in the UK estimated to have tried MDMA and up to
250,000 of those to be regular users. Up to one third of recreational users
are thought to binge by taking several tablets at once or over a period
of hours to days. It is thought the number of regular users worldwide is
in the millions though, due to the illegality of the drug, exact figures
