After beating As Roma 2-0 in the final group game, Liverpool finished 2nd in the group of death behind Barcelona and will now face Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the Champions league. The first leg would be held at Anfield with the second in Germany. Liverpool scored 4 goals in this stage and conceded 4 goals.
Liverpool's run in Europe eventually came to an end thanks to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The Germans beat Liverpool 4-2 at the Bay Arena after Liverpool had beat them at Anfield thanks to a gola from captain, sami Hyypia. The Germans won 4-3 on aggregate and will face Manchester United in the semi-final.
It was a good run. No one expected us to come this far and we have surprised a lot of poeople. We might be out but one things for sure. Liverpool will be playing Champions Legaue Football next season. The lads did us proud and now they can concetrate fully on the Premier League. |
