Richie Partridge is another academy graduate who is looking to make the big step into tht first team. Richie was called to join the first team at Melwood in September '99. He scored in his debut against Bouremouth in 4-0 win (friendly).
He then made his debut actual first team debut against Stoke City in the worthington cup, in which Liverpool won 8-0.
Richie, an Irish U-21, has been at the club since he was a boy at the age of 15 and has made his way up the ranks at Anfield. He has been on the bench quite a few times and plays in the reserve very often but Richie will be looking to make his mark in the first team this season.
He was sent on loan to Bristol Rovers on loan in 2001 to gain first team experience and stayed there for the rest of the season. He is a quick player and a great crosser of the ball. Alex Ferguson was once interested in this young prospect but Richie is determined to fight and wait for his time at Anfield and it will come. Just look at where Owen, Wright, Carragher and Gerrard are now and that should be enough inspiration.
Richie does write articles for Kop Talk and you can read his articles at here.
