Liverpool signed FInland's, best ever football ever on a Bosman free from Spanish gianats, Barcelona in 2001. Litmanen came to Liverpool after he failed to make a single appearance for the spanish giants all season. His signing brought a lot of exictement to Anfield.

Jari proved himself in the dutch league, during his 7 year stay with Ajax in Armsterdam where the fans just loved and you could see that, when Liverpool played a pre-sesaon game agaisnt Ajax and Litmanen scored. They all went crazy and screamed.

Litmanen made his Liverpool debut, in the Worthington Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace where he had a big impact on the game but unfortunately, injury ruled him out of the final and the climax of the season which saw Liverpool win three throphies. He made his Premier league dubut in the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Jari is a very quiet but skiful player. He is very tricky and is an amazing passer of the ball and does get quite a few goals, himself. He is a player who doesn't really like the attention but his worshiped in his native, Finland and is a regular interntional. He enjoys playing just behind the front two.

Litmanen has had to spend a lot of time on a bench which is a shame because he is probably the most creative player at Anfield, today. With the likes of Owen, Anelka, Hesky and Baros, anyone would find it hard to get into the team.

Litmanen is joint top scorer for his country Finland and he only needs one more goal to be the all-time leading scorer.
