Hamann came to Liverpool in the summer of 1998. He came for a fee of 8million pounds. Hamann has been an amazing buy for Liverpool as he has established himself in the Liverpool squad. He plays just in front ot the defenders and does an excellent job for Liverpool.

Hamann will always be remembered in British football history as the last man ever to score at Wembley stadium. He scored for his country Germany in a match against England. Hamann is a regular in the German side and has been playing in it for years.

Liverpool do miss Hamann when he is out because of the consistency he brings to the side. He is probably the most consistent player in the Liverpool side but he does tend to get booked a lot. He doesn't score too many goals but when he does, you can expect them to be special.

He has now formed an amazing patnership with the young scouser, steven Gerrad and the pair only seem to get better. Gerrad attacks and he plays the anchoring role between the defence and the midfield.

Hamann does have very good passing and vision. Hamann played a big part in the Treble season and he also signed a new contract which shoould keep him at Anfield till at least 2005.
