Steven Gerrard graduated from the Liverpool academy and is seen by many as the brightest young talent in England today. Steven has made so much progress in such a short space of time.
Gerrard is a versatile player and has played at right back, and anywhere in midfield but his favoured position is in midfield where he has formed a formidable partnership with German international, Dietmar Hamann. When these two play together, they control the middle of the park.
Gerrad broke into the Liverpool team in the '98 season and since then has come a long way. He is now a regular England international and is being compared to the likes of Keane and Viera. Gerrard has done a lot in his time at Liverpool but injury has hampered his growth severly especially on the international scene where he always seems to be injured. His groin and his back seem to be the main cause of his injury problems.
Gerrad has kept the likes of Redkanpp and McAllister on the bench and he is also the main reasong why Liverpool decided to let former Liverpool captain Paul Ince leave becasue they saw what this young lad could do.
Not only is Gerard a very hard tackling player, he also scores quite a few goals from Midfield and as time goes on, this academy graduate only seems to be getting better and better which can only be good for England and Liverpool. |
